Mumbai – Aurangabad (Ellora Caves) – Pench (Ramtek) – Tadoba – Ajanta – Nashik – Mumbai

Day 1: Mumbai (Arrival)
After arriving in Mumbai, meet at the Chhatrapati Shivaji terminal between 16:00 and 16:30. Enjoy a traditional welcome with a garland and a teeka on the forehead. Complete check-in procedures and settle into your luxury cabins as the train departs for Aurangabad. Dinner and overnight stay aboard the train.

Day 2: Aurangabad – Ellora Caves
Enjoy a lavish breakfast as the train arrives in Aurangabad, named after the Mughal emperor Aurangzeb. The city is not only an important industrial hub in Maharashtra but is also famous for housing a series of Mughal architectural gems.
After breakfast, you will have the morning free. You can either stay aboard and enjoy the Deccan Odyssey’s facilities or opt for a rejuvenating spa session at a popular hotel in the city.
Later, after an early lunch, get ready to explore the UNESCO World Heritage Ellora Caves, an outstanding example of Indian temple and cave architecture.
These 34 rock-cut caves are dedicated to Hinduism, Buddhism, and Jainism, and contain engravings and sculptures reflecting these traditions.
The next visit is to the magnificent Daulatabad Fort, perched atop a hill. Built in the 12th century, this fort consists of several structures, including the Elephant Tank, Jami Masjid, Chini Mahal, Chand Minar, and more.
Return to the Deccan Odyssey for refreshments before heading back to the city for a delicious dinner. Overnight aboard the Deccan Odyssey.

Day 3: Aurangabad
On the third day, after a relaxed breakfast, disembark for a city tour of Aurangabad. Begin by visiting the Bibi-ka-Maqbara, a replica of the Taj Mahal of Agra and the mausoleum of Dilras Banu, Aurangzeb’s beloved wife. Known as the “Taj of the Deccan,” the monument was built by Prince Azam Shah, Aurangzeb’s son.
Next, visit a weaving center specializing in Himroo fabrics, which has been linked to Aurangabad royalty since the 14th century.
Afterward, return to the train to relax for a while. You are free to participate in recreational activities and enjoy the Deccan Odyssey’s facilities.
In the evening, enjoy a non-alcoholic cocktail in the Mumbai-Hi lounge before a delectable dinner. Overnight aboard the train.

Day 4: Ramtek (Pench National Park)
The day begins early as the train arrives at Ramtek. Your next visit will be exciting—prepare for a safari inside the famous Pench National Park.
Pench is known for offering ample rafting opportunities. In 2011, the park won the Best Management Award. This national park and tiger reserve, named after the Pench River that flows through it, is rich in flora and fauna, including a wealth of aquatic life.
Some animals you may encounter include Gaur, Sambar, Cheetal, Nilgai, Tiger, Wild Dog, Wolf, Wild Boar, and more. The park is home to over 285 bird species, including Malabar hornbills, Indian pittas, ospreys, gray-headed fish eagles, white-eyed vultures, storks, waterfowl, and four species of endangered vultures.
Later, return to the Deccan Odyssey for lunch. In the afternoon, return to Ramtek station to board the luxury Deccan Odyssey train.
Enjoy a sumptuous dinner and overnight aboard as the train heads to the next destination, Tadoba.

Day 5: Tadoba
The sunrise greets you on Day 5 as the train reaches Chandrapur station. The first part of the day is a wildlife safari inside Tadoba National Park and Tiger Reserve, fondly known as the “Jewel of Vidarbha.”
This national park is renowned for its healthy population of large felines. Embark on a morning safari, where you may see wild dogs, tigers, sloth bears, spotted deer, leopards, wild boars, and up to 280 species of colorful birds.
After the morning safari, enjoy a late breakfast at a wildlife resort while admiring the surrounding landscapes. Relax while watching a wildlife documentary and interacting with the naturalist.
After lunch, return to the Deccan Odyssey, which is stationed at Chandrapur station. Spend the evening relaxing with cocktails and a delicious dinner.
Overnight aboard as the train heads to Jalgaon, the next destination.

Day 6: Jalgaon – Ajanta Caves
On Day 6, the luxurious Deccan Odyssey arrives at Jalgaon station. After breakfast aboard, get ready to visit the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Ajanta Caves, another excellent example of India’s rock-cut temple architecture.
A total of 30 rock-cut caves, dedicated to Buddhism and some to Hinduism, feature carvings, paintings, religious art, and sculptures related to both religions.
Afterward, return to the train for lunch as it begins the journey to Nashik, the “Wine Capital of India.”
The rest of the day is free. Relax on the train’s luxurious amenities: rejuvenate at the spa, watch the latest film, engage in recreational activities, and more. Dinner and overnight aboard the Deccan Odyssey.

Day 7: Nashik
Today, the train arrives at the ancient holy city of Nashik, also famous for its extensive wine production. Enjoy a hearty breakfast on board and disembark for a stroll along the ghats of the Godavari River, witnessing various Hindu rituals performed there.
Next, head to the local Nashik market, where you can find everything you need.
Later, take an exclusive tour of a popular vineyard. Get a look at special grape varieties such as Chenin, Chardonnay, and Pinot Noir. Observe the ancient method of producing sparkling wine in India.
The sommelier will offer the finest wines, including white, red, rosé, and sparkling wines. Return to the train after lunch.

Deccan Odyssey begins its journey back to Mumbai. The rest of the day is free. Dinner and overnight aboard the train.
